“Think Pink” Day brings together students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 on Thursday, October 22, 2026, for a day of learning, creativity and giving.

Riffa, Kingdom of Bahrain, October 20, 2026: GFH Alia National School is marking Breast Cancer Awareness Month with its “Think Pink” Day on Thursday, October 22, 2026. The school-wide initiative will engage students from Kindergarten through Grade 12 in raising awareness, promoting healthy habits and highlighting the importance of early detection, while supporting the cause through student-led fundraising activities.

Under the theme “Wear Pink, Share Hope, Make a Difference,” students are invited to wear pink instead of their regular school uniforms in exchange for a suggested contribution of BHD 1. The school’s auditorium and outdoor area will host a full programme of exhibitions, performances and interactive activities, alongside a student-managed “Think Pink” fair.

Activities Across All Grade Levels

Students from Kindergarten to Grade 3 will take part in hands-on activities, including adding their handprints to a large pink ribbon mural and decorating kindness cards to be delivered to patients at a local hospital. Each participating child will also receive a sticker and a certificate of participation.

Students in Grades 4 to 6 will explore how countries around the world mark the “Think Pink” initiative, present projects highlighting women who have changed the world, and design awareness campaigns inspired by social media platforms. Their activities will also feature live science demonstrations, including a UV handwashing experiment, a pink lava lamp and a secret-message laboratory.

Grade 4 and Grade 5 students will manage the “Pink Shop,” setting prices, calculating discounts and keeping accounts, while Grade 6 students will host mathematics games of their own design.

As part of the “Words That Inspire” project, Grade 7 students will create awareness slogans and songs, while Grade 8 students will produce podcast episodes titled “Healthy Habits,” focusing on prevention and healthy living. The episodes will be broadcast on Radio 107.2.

Students in Grades 9 to 12 will present their own breast cancer awareness organisations, each featuring a name, vision, visual identity and functional website. Judging will begin at 10 a.m. in the school auditorium, where judges will use symbolic pink money to invest in the most compelling initiatives. Senior students will also take responsibility for managing the “Think Pink” fair.

Students enrolled in the Individual Learning Programme and Transition Programme will contribute to fundraising efforts and sell items through their own dedicated pink shop.

Pink Products, Live Performances and Fundraising

Throughout the day, the “Think Pink” fair will offer a variety of pink-themed products, including bracelets, pink ribbon-shaped pins and keychains, and pink cakes. The programme will also feature live musical performances by students, games for different age groups and awareness activities.

All funds raised during the event will be dedicated to supporting breast cancer awareness.

Khalid Al Awadhi, Head of Public Relations at GFH Alia National School, said the “Think Pink” initiative reflects the school’s core message that every child is known and every child belongs.

“By giving each grade level a meaningful role, from creating a handprint on a pink ribbon to producing a radio-broadcast podcast, our students discover that awareness is something they can create and share with their families and communities,” Al Awadhi said.

He also expressed his appreciation to parents for their support and looked forward to a day filled with learning, compassion and pink-themed activities.
